And so it begins...

Greetings, RHS Class of 1998!

This is my son Bailey. He's in third grade, getting ready to turn 10 years old this summer. And in case you need reminding, this remarkable little person represents the amount of time that has passed since our high school graduation. Anyone feel old yet? :)

And so, the time has come to begin planning our 10 year reunion. I've spoken with several of you over the last few months, and I'm grateful to hear that so many folks are willing to help out with the planning - please contact me via email if you can contribute in any way. Also, if you're still in touch with anyone from our class, please spread the word about this blog: that way, we can save money on mailings and keep everyone in the loop.

In general, we've developed a basic plan to start with, and we'll be formalizing and amending this plan as the reunion weekend approaches. The festivities will take place this fall during Homecoming Weekend. (I will post confirmation when I have the exact dates, but as you all know, Homecoming tends to fall in late September or early October.) Here's a general idea of the activities we have in mind:

Friday:
  • Meet for pre-game (family friendly) dinner at Alex's Pizza (5:00 pm)
  • Attend RHS Homecoming football game (7:00 pm)
  • Bonfire & Beers after the game (10:00 pm - ????)

*Lots of people seem interested in an outdoor party after the game, so we're currently scouting for locations. If anyone has any ideas about where we could host this little shindig, please email me immediately.

Saturday:

  • Barbeque (family friendly) at Lion's Club Park (1:00 - 4:00 pm)
  • Drinks at Bruno's and/or the Tater Patch (8:00 pm - ???)

*We'll be renting a pavilion at the Lion's Club, and are hoping to make the barbeque a potluck. Please let me know if you would be willing to bring a dish or to contribute financially.

Sunday:

  • Goodbye Brunch (12:00 pm)

*We're working on a couple of possible locations for the Sunday brunch. If you have suggestions, please let me know.

I'd love to hear from you as soon as possible - please let me know if you have reunion-related questions or ideas. To post comments to this blog, you will need to register for a Google account - it's free, and you can use your existing email address. I'd appreciate it if you could post a comment here to check-in, and provide your current email: that way, I can compile a mass email list so that I can alert you when this page is updated. Or, feel free to just contact me via email: you'll find my contact info in my profile.

Hope everyone is well, and I'll be in touch again soon!

Best,

Candice Ball Richards, RHS 1998 Senior Class President

P.S. If anyone has any old pictures of 98ers that you'd like to share, please let me know!
